Victory for SEIU 49 PDX Workers!
Congratulations to PDX workers who overwhelmingly ratify their new contract with 99% support!
The new contract includes:
New paid time off!
PDX workers can accrue up to 80 hours of PTO, on top of their 40 hours of sick time (and can cash it out when you leave the company)!
Two new paid holidays
Workers will be paid 1.5x on Juneteenth and Martin Luther King Jr. Day (on top of existing holidays).
Fair assignments
New contract protections to ensure workers have fair work assignments!
Better protections for breaks and lunches!
Finally, we won a path to affordable health care! More details to come this fall as a policy from the port is finalized and then in spring we will negotiate over the health plan that will come into effect in July 2024!
